“ We met friends for dinner and had never been here before. The food came out fast, hot, and tasted great! Service was excellent, but we learned that you must get up and give your table to the next person when you're done. We were all talking and catching up, and they asked us to please pay and let them turn the table for the next guests. We were shocked but also saw people were waiting. I was not used to being asked to leave a restaurant, but I understood why they wanted to change the table. I think it's a cultural difference, but it's a good thing to know if you are looking to sit and chat rather than eat and go. ”

The atmosphere was busy, plain but clean. Not overloaded with deco -- they do what they do, and do it well, no frills. Would definitely recommend. ”

“ The restaurant is almost always busy close to lunch dinner hours, as well as on weekends, but the wait-time is minimal while the staff are fast-paced. Sunday mornings are almost always busy because people attending church like to stop by SGD right after sermons/mass. Staff are patient with customers even when they're busy/rushing; careful with heavy dishes; and their manner of refilling side dishes and drinks are considerate to the diner(s) in timing and quantity. They have both cold and hot complimentary drinks (water/tea) based on the season/weather, so you only need to ask staff if you want a different drink than what was served. Bowls will look fairly different based on what you order, but quantity is actually fairly similar (stone or heatproofed bowls). If you don't like super soft tofu or can't handle spice in general, there are other dishes to satisfy a variety of omnivorous or vegetarian diets (bibimbap, bulgogi, all appetizers are great as dishes to eat by themselves too - even if they're meant to be shared...) ”

“ I LOVE this place. I went for the first time on 4/11/19. My first visit I had the regular spicy noodles with mushrooms. I was craving it so I took a coworker today (4/16/19). It's very good. The flavors are just right and the portion size is large. They constantly refill the apps without you having to ask. The tofu at this place made me like tofu again. It's very soft and silky mouth feel. This place isn't very large and seems to be busy for lunch so expect a short wait. I definitely recommend it. I'm excited that there is one opening in Oakbrook. I ordered carryout in April 2021. The place was still packed (both dine in and carryout) during COVID restrictions. The wait wasn't very long at all and the food was packaged nicely. Everything is still delicious. I might kick up the spice level a bit next visit :) ”

“ We specifically drove here just for the tofu hot stone soup, and it did not disappoint! The tofu soup was amazing—rich, flavorful, and incredibly satisfying. The entire experience at SGD was great, from the friendly service to the cozy atmosphere. I have to say I love their small dishes!!!The restaurant is located in a plaza with other great Korean food options too, making it a perfect spot if you’re craving authentic Korean flavors. Highly recommend this place for anyone looking for a fantastic tofu soup and an overall excellent dining experience! ”

“ The food was absolutely wonderful! And don’t get me started on the survive. They are so nice and polite. Always has a smile on their face when asking for the order, or bringing it to the table! The spring rolls were so crisp and fresh. Everything was so delicious! The fish cakes are so good! I cannot describe how good the bulgogi beef is! My mouth was absolutely watering when it came out. It is so fresh! The shrimp has a crunch like I’ve never heard before! I love this place so much would recommend would 100% come back! ”
